One of the vital keys to Nu-Industries cutting edge technology in biodiesel manufacturing is our strategic partnerships with Siemens Corporation, VFTechnical Services and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Ours is the only fully automated biodiesel manufacturing line with VFT-5M System Integration from VFTechnical Services using SIEMENS SIMATIC PCS 7 with the latest bus technology to provide effortless control of the entire processing system. With this technology, you can produce the highest quality fuel, with consistent results time after time using multiple feedstocks.

While we currently offer a proven second generation reactor using a continuous/batch approach to biodiesel manufacturing, our partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratories will enable us to bring to the market the next generation—third generation—a cutting edge, continuous process biodiesel reactor that will revolutionize the biodiesel manufacturing industry.

  • Oak Ridge National Laboratory – The Department of Energy’s largest science and energy laboratory, and one of the world’s leaders for research and development on energy production, distribution and technology development.

    With 4,000 employees, a $1 billion budget and 3,000 researchers, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) boasts the nation’s largest unclassified scientific computing facility. Their close proximity to the Nu-Industries headquarters facilitates a close working relationship with the top scientific researchers in the country.

    ORNL’s SPALLATION Neutron Source along with the High Fllux Isotope Reactor provide neutron scattering capabilities unavailable anywhere else in the world. Together, this neutron science research is leading to promising materials science developments.

    When completed, you’ll likely hear about new applications in terms of commercial viability right here at Nu-Industries, because of our strategic partnership with ORNL. They offer the largest concentration of open source materials research in the country, as well as the country’s largest unclassified scientific computing facility, housed in the $300-million modernization project, which is nearly complete.

  • VFTechnical Services – A process automation and field services company, VFTechnical Services developed the process automation for Siemens PCS7 DCS design, Profibus DP and PA network design, and other key elements of the project. VFTechnical is a close partner with Seimens, and is now also a strategic partner with Nu-Industries.
